The Fusion OH Macmillan Coffee Morning 2017

The Fusion OH Macmillan Coffee Morning 2017. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer or families who have lost a loved one due to cancer.

The number of people living with cancer in the UK in 2016 increased by almost half a million people in the last five years. That’s an estimated 2.5 million people, rising to 4 million by 2030.

To raise awareness of their fight to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care, Macmillan holds their flagship coffee mornings every year.

In fact, since creating this fun event, Macmillan has raised a grand total of £136 million!

Getting the team involved:

Macmillan Coffee Morning is a great chance to raise cancer awareness and boost the morale in the office, pull together as a team to support this vital fundraiser.

We understand not everyone in the workplace can be off at once, so we have put together some tips on how you can organise your Coffee Morning.

Delegate tasks between staff

Everyone has their uses, and delegating tasks when organising your coffee morning will help to keep track of who is doing what.

Here at Fusion, our operational staff will be taking care of the decorations and coffee supplies, our clinical department will be providing the tasty treats, and our directors will be helping us to see it all off!

The Fusion team will be bringing in donations and baking up some treats ahead of our coffee morning.

Ask each person in the workplace to bring in a donation and delegate a treasurer to collect all monies and ensure it is paid to the correct bank – NatWest.

Payments can be made online, by phone, by post and by text.

Can’t organise a Coffee Morning?

If for some reason you are not able to host your own Coffee Morning, don’t worry because Macmillan will be hosting one in your area too.

P.S. For the purposes of full disclosure, the cakes pictured in this blog aren’t actually by the staff from Fusion! We’re good, but perhaps not quite Great British Bake Off standard!

UPDATE

Perhaps we should take that last statement back.

The standards of baking on the day were exceptional!

You can see a selection of the cakes on offer and Portland Jones, the leader of our running club, who went around our neighbouring offices, selling cakes. They raised a respectable total of £20.99.
